James R. Silver

Practicing law in Ohio since 1980, Silver has a general practice based in Kent, Ohio. Some areas of law that he specializes in are estates, estate planning, wills and trusts, contract law, personal injury cases, real estate matters (contracts, leases, land disputes), domestic law (dissolution, divorce), employment law issues (hiring, firing, discrimination), social security claims and disability claims, construction law issues and zoning issues.

Jim Silver serves as the Law Director for the City of Kent and previously Assistant Law Director for the past 16 years.

While most of his practices is centered in Portage County, he has handled client issues as far as Butler, Franklin, Jefferson and Hamilton Counties in both State and Federal Courts.

Besides practicing law, Jim Silver is committed to the community. He is currently a Board Member for the Portage Foundation, member of the Kent Rotary Club, and an active church member. He has previously served on the Board of Kent Social Services, Townhall II, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and a United Way Volunteer.
